The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, on Tuesday received the newly appointed Executive Chairman, Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB), Rtd. Chief Magistrate Fidelia Okpo Ene, along with members of her Board, during a courtesy visit to his office in Calabar. The visit was aimed at formally introducing the new Executive Chairman and fostering stronger collaboration between the Ministry of Education and CR-SUBEB in advancing the state’s educational development agenda.
In her remarks, Rtd. Chief Magistrate Fidelia Okpo Ene described the Commissioner as “a man of many parts and great achievements.” She expressed her desire to draw from his wealth of experience and leadership in the education sector, commending his ongoing reforms and policy innovations. She further assured that her team is fully committed to working closely with the Ministry to achieve shared goals in the basic education sub-sector.
Responding, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, graciouly welcomed and congratulated the new Executive Chairman on her well-deserved appointment. He assured her of the Ministry’s full cooperation and inclusiveness in policy formulation and implementation, as he further charged the Board to remain committed to effective service delivery, emphasizing that His Excellency, Governor Bassey Otu, has demonstrated strong commitment to transforming the education sector, and all stakeholders must work collectively to complement the Governor’s efforts.
