The Office of the National Security Adviser has convened an ongoing 3-day stakeholders’ retreat to address the issue of out-of-school children and reform the Almajeri education system. Attendees include Senator (Associate Prof) Stephen Odey, the Secretary to the Cross River State Government Prof Anthony Owan-Enoh, and other key education stakeholders, leaders, experts, and technocrats.

The 3 day retreat ongoing in the Conference Hall of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) at Aso Villa, aims to gather policymakers, and education experts including Senator Odey, to devise solutions to the challenges facing out-of-school children and the almajeri education system in the country.

During the event, Senator Odey reunited with former Kano State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau his colleague in the 9th Senate. The retreat is Organized by National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the retreat seeks to establish a strategic framework for the newly formed National Commission for Almajeri and Out-of-School Children Education in Nigeria.
