C’RIVER EDUCATION COMMISSIONER MEETS PUBLIC SCHOOLS PRINCIPALS IN YALA LGA

In his avowed commitment to ensure that the lost glory is restored back to the Education Sector, the Cross River State Commissioner for Education Senator Stephen Odey Ph D, earlier today met with the Principals of Public Secondary Schools in Yala LGA, at Mathias Offoboche Secondary School, Okuku Yala.

The Commissioner’s interactive session with the Principals harped on issues affecting the school system. He informed them to shun all forms of sharp practices in schools, and to avoid all illegal collections, that illegal collection of money is an offense, he warned.

Continuing, the Commissioner further charged the Principals to properly supervise their staff, particularly teachers to teach the students well, covering the syllabus so as the students can perform well in both internal and external examinations. Governor Otu is passionate and poised to transform the education sector and so all hands must be on deck.

“When you do your work well, be rest assured that, first your conscience will be free, you will also have no problems at all,” the Commissioner emphasized.

The Commissioner addressed the Students of MOSSO, to take their studies seriously, that most of them will be great tomorrow if they take their academics seriously. Finally he commended Mrs Ogbo KSJI- Principal of Mathias Offoboche Secondary School, Okuku Yala for the good job she is doing, with particular reference to the neat school environment, and good behaviour of her students.

The Commissioner was accompanied to the interactive session by some Directors which includes:

Director Special Duties, Mr Itam Cyril; Chief Tony Okaka, Ministry of Education Calabar; Barrister Chris Etta, Secretary/Director Secondary Education Board; Mr Augustine Enung, Acting Coordinating Supervisory Director (CSD); Mrs Beatrice Ocheke Wogor, Executive Secretary, Yala LGEA and others.

Mr James Olima the Zonal ANCOPS Chairman, on behalf of his colleagues thanked the Commissioner for the great work he is doing, they all pledged their total and continued loyalty and support to the Commissioner and to abide by the Ministry’s policies.
