Senator Associate Professor Stephen Odey, Commissioner for Education Cross River State, presented a lecture titled ‘Staff Welfare: A Catalyst for Productivity’ at a one-day workshop organized by the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, University of Calabar chapter, earlier today. The Commissioner emphasized the significance of staff welfare in enhancing productivity.

Senator Odey stressed the crucial role of staff welfare in driving productivity, noting that a satisfied employee is a motivated and productive worker, and retaining experienced personnel is vital for institutional success.

Associate Professor Odey, further underscored the importance of worker satisfaction and welfare packages in augmenting performance and productivity. He urged employers to prioritize employee well-being and fulfillment, observing that investing in staff welfare is essential for operational efficiency and not a luxury. Odey also commended staff unions for holding employers accountable for implementing welfare policies that enhance productivity.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, represented by Professor Eno Grace Nta, Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration – Unical, witnessed the NASU Chairperson, Unical chapter, Rt Comr. Victoria Orok Asuquo, present the award of Diligent Partnership to Senator Associate Professor Stephen A. Odey, in recognition of his contribution towards the career development of NASU members.
