The Cross River State House of Assembly Committee on Education paid a friendly visit to Senator Stephen Odey (Associate Prof), Cross River State Commissioner for Education, in his office earlier today at the Ministry of Education Headquarters, Calabar.

Hon. Martin Achadu, Chairman House Committee on Education, representing Yala II State Constituency, Hon. Omang Charles Omang, Member representing Bekwarra, Hon. Francis Ogban, Member representing Biase, Hon. Bette Philip Obi, Member representing Boki 1, Hon. Mercy Akpama, Member representing Yakurr 1, Hon. Thomas Aruku, Member representing Ogoja, and Hon. Stanley Nsemo, Member representing Calabar Municipal, all commended the Commissioner for the wonderful reforms and policies he is formulating in the State Education sector.

The House Committee on Education assured the Commissioner of their support while deliberating on other sundry issues as it concerns the education sector. They further noted that all the ongoing reforms are in line with the Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s people first mantra and should be sustained.

The Commissioner – Associate Professor Odey, warmly received the Honourable members and thanked them for the friendly visit as it will avail them of the opportunity to know more about the Ministry’s activities. Continuing he said: “My duty here is to formulate policies and reforms that will take our education sector to meet best global standards in line with the vision of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State who is poised and determined to the transformation of the State education sector,” he stated.
